I produce HOTEL / MOTEL GUEST DIRECTORIES. I do this in 27 different cities, including Tampa, Key West, Panama City Beach and others. I am planning a new one for Tallahassee.

This directory is a simple document that includes everything a motel guest might want to know...such as, a list of restaurants, things to do, TV channels and a MAP.

On average, 95% or more of the hotels in my existing markets use my directories...and normally 50% agree to put them in the rooms. I supply them to the hotels for FREE.

We make our money by selling ads to the supporting companies (restaurants, attractions, cleaners, auto repair, etc). When you have 95% of the motels using your product, selling ads is normally not hard.

You are paid 33% of the ad sales. (Commission). When the client renews in 3 or 6 months, you get that commission again (a residual commission). Normally this is a building process, and your commissions grow over time.

You are also paid to distribute the directories. We usually visit the accommodations and the advertisers every 30 days. You are paid $1 for every stop you make. Plus, we compensate you for gas.

How much can you make? It depends on how much you sell. Ads normally sell for an average of $250 / 6 month issue. If you sell 25 ads, that is $2,083 in commission (twice a year). If you sell 50 ads, that is $4,166 / issue ($8,333 / year). Plus you get revenue from distributions monthly.

The selling time is short, normally 2-3 weeks, twice a year. It depends on how aggressive you are. This is definitely a part time job...one you can do in conjunction with another job.
